White Knuckled About Remixing OK Go

OK Go wants fans to help promote its newest single by remixing the heck out of the track.

“White Knuckles” – which hails from the rock band’s third studio album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky – hits Alternative and AAA radio Sept. 14 as the follow-up single to the smash hit “This Too Shall Pass.”

Fans are invited to remix the new single by getting “as creative as possible” and not being “afraid to redefine the song in both genre and feeling.” The contest begins Sept. 7 and runs through Oct. 14.

Dave Fridmann, producer of Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, will pick his favorite remixes each week to be featured on OK Go’s web properties beginning Sept. 21. The selected remixes will also be available for download.

One grand prize winner will go down in OK Go and video game history by having his/her “White Knuckles” remix mastered and made available for download via “Rock Band.” The prize also includes a gaming console, a copy of “Rock Band 3” and a set of “Rock Band” instruments. The winner will be announced Oct. 29.

More contest details will soon be posted on OK Go’s website.

In September OK Go plays Union County Musicfest in Clark, N.J., and Life Is Good festival in Canton, Mass., before heading for Brazil and Spain.

The band kicks off October with a performance at the L.A. County Fair in Pomona, Calif., followed by U.S. and Canadian gigs booked through mid-November.

Additional shows include Beachland Ballroom & Tavern in Cleveland (Oct. 13), Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto (Oct. 14), Terminal 5 in New York (Oct. 29), 40 Watt Club in Athens, Ga. (Nov. 4) and The Hub in Santa Barbara, Calif. (Nov. 19).
