Party Like It’s 1999 At ATP

Next year The Flaming Lips will party like it’s 1999 by performing the band’s classic album “The Soft Bulletin” in its entirety.

The 1999 album is ranked as Pitchfork.com’s third best album of the 1990s and it was also included in Robert Dimery’s 2006 book “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.”

Wayne Coyne and co. will perform the band’s ninth studio album as part of All Tomorrow’s Parties’ Don’t Look Back series July 1, 2011 at Alexandra Palace in London.

The show also includes performances from Dinosaur Jr. and Deerhoof. Dinosaur Jr. will put on its 1988 album Bug and Deerhoof will perform its 2004 album Milk Man

Advanced tickets are priced at £40.00 ($51.30) and go on sale Friday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. Applicable booking fees are not included in the price.

Next week the Lips play Bestival in Isle Of Wight, United Kingdom, followed by a round of U.S. and Canadian dates.

The North American gigs include Malkin Bowl in Vancouver, British Columbia (Sept. 26), McDonald Theatre in Eugene, Ore. (Sept. 29), Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif. (Oct. 1) and House Of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Oct. 14).
