Avo Session At 25

Avo Session festival president Matthias Müller announced a lineup that included Anastacia, Mary J. Blige, Robert Plant, Morcheeba, Jamie Cullum, Jamiroquai, Sheryl Crow, 2Raumwohnung, and Joe Jackson for the Swiss event’s 25th-anniversary edition.

The organisers of Basel’s annual Avo Session hosted a press conference at the city’s Atlantis venue Aug. 25.

Since starting in 1986 as a vehicle for bringing world-class jazz, blues and gospel stars to Switzerland, the event has broadened its musical scope to include major acts from all genres.

The concerts are staged in the festival hall of the Basel Fair building, where a maximum of 1,600 people can enjoy watching top talent in an intimate atmosphere that includes a candlelit dinner.

This year’s Avo Session is Oct. 22 to Nov. 14.
