Eau De Punk

Paris-based perfume house Etat Libre D’Orange has teamed with UK punk rockers Sex Pistols to launch a new perfume.

It’s “the spirit of punk in a bottle,” according to Mathilde Bijaoui, who has masterminded the creation of this new fragrance.

The “rebellious peppery scented composition” is apparently inspired by anarchy and chaos, according to the ideologies of the band that made a music revolution in UK in the ’70s. Bijaoui says it’s “revolution in a bottle.”

Anyone wishing to purchase a bottle of this new eau de punk for a loved one should note they’ll smell of what’s being described as “fresh lemon bites sharpened by defiant black pepper, creating an unruly turbulence with the addition of prune and intense ambrette seed. The electricity of aldehydes, further inflated with leather and heliotrope, is subsequently grounded and brought back to earth by patchouli.”

The fragrance is called Sex Pistols and is being marketed as a unisex scent. It comes in a tartan-topped bottle featuring the band’s “God Save the Queen” imagery and sells for £33 a bottle.
