Hotstar: Kaskade

Kaskade may have been known as Ryan Raddon when he was spinning tunes in the dorms at Brigham Young University 10 years ago, but today he’s quickly becoming one of the leaders of the worldwide electronic music revolution.

In the last two years, he’s moved from playing local DJ clubs to musical pied piper for huge crowds at Electric Daisy Carnival at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as well as mainstream fests at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Coachella.

And that’s all part of the plan, says William Morris Endeavor’s Joel Zimmerman.

“We’ve focused on positioning him the best way we can in the electronic music festivals as well as into the mainstream ones,” Zimmerman told Pollstar. “This last year we’ve taken him into larger theatres and GA floors and actually adding a bit of a production.”

Kaskade began a collaboration with Deadmau5 that saw him change his style and prepare for bigger and better things. “He has a certain slant on it that was kind of pop but was also accessible. I haven’t seen anyone like that,” Zimmerman said.

Kaskade released Dynasty in April followed by a strategic residency in Las Vegas at the Wynn properties and continues a heavy touring schedule when he’s not producing remixes for artists including Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Timbaland.

Best Remixer Award at the International Dance Music Awards and nominations for best American DJ, producer, and full-length DJ mix.

Kaskade spent his summer Sundays in a residency at Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore, performing 12 of 15 weekends and curating the nights he didn’t perform.
