O2 Apollo Makeover

The first benefit the Manchester Apollo will see from re-branding as The O2 Apollo Manchester is the redecoration of its art deco style interior. The venue’s change of name was effective Sept. 6.

The 3,500-capacity building, owned and operated by Live Nation, is following the path taken by the Academy Music Group venues LN co-owns in partnership with Denis Desmond’s Gaiety Investments and UK promoters Metropolis Music and SJM Concerts.

At the beginning of last year, 11 Academy venues previously been branded by brewer Carling switched to the phone operator’s moniker. Since then, the group has acquired new venues in Glasgow, Bournemouth and Leicester.

O2 telecom customers will again benefit from being able to access tickets 48 hours before they do on sale to the public.
