TM Offers Springsteen Refunds

Ticketmaster has agreed to refund more than 1,000 consumers who bought Bruce Springsteen tickets in a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over charges the company used “deceptive bait-and-switch tactics” to steer buyers to the TicketsNow resale site last year.

According to a statement from the FTC, when Bruce Springsteen tickets went on sale, TM directed many consumers to TicketsNow where tickets were offered at prices that were sometimes “double, triple, or quadruple the face value of the ticket.”

Claim forms have reportedly been sent to 1,018 consumers who purchased tickets for shows in 14 cities around the U.S.

Under terms of the settlement, consumers who file claims before Oct. 8 will be reimbursed for the difference between the face value of the tickets and the inflated prices paid on TicketsNow, the FTC said.
