Jay-Z, Coldplay To Ring In New Year In Vegas
But this isn’t a New Year’s Eve show for us ordinary mortals. Strictly a high-roller affair, the concert, featuring solo sets from each artist, is part of a three-day, invitation-only event taking place two weeks after the new hotel / casino opens Dec. 15.
If Jay-Z and Coldplay don’t ring your 2011 chimes, hotel representatives say there will also be a surprise performance on the hotel’s pool deck overlooking Las Vegas Boulevard.
The $3.9 billion resort is owned by Deutsche Bank. That’s right. $3.9 billion. Kind of makes the Bellagio sound like a Motel 6, doesn’t it?
Although the event isn’t open to the general public, that doesn’t mean us common folks will totally miss out. The Cosmopolitan says it will broadcast the performances on the hotel’s 65-foot marquee overlooking the famed Vegas Strip.
