Cher Announces Vegas Swan Song

Cher ends her three-year Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace with a string of performances beginning in January and running through the first week of February.

You don’t need to be a rocket surgeon to appreciate the show-biz strategy of booking Cher for multi-night residency stretches in Las Vegas, as the city and entertainer were made for each other as both are known for glitz, sizzle and dreams.

Having her play The Colosseum is also a masterstroke, considering the venue only holds approximately 4,300 seats. When compared to the 20,000-seat arenas Cher usually plays when touring, the Vegas gigs seem even more appealing by presenting the artist in a high-tech production yet keeping singer and fans at an intimate level.

The new 2011 dates are January 11-12, 15-16, 18-19, 22-23, 25-26, 29-30 and February 1-2 and 4-5 and go on sale Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. Vegas time.
