John Butler Trio – From Arenas To Clubs

John Butler Trio is beginning its tour in a big way by playing for thousands in arenas followed by a series of dates in clubs and theatres. But then, it’s not like that Matthews guy can bring the group along for every show.

The Trio will face thousands of concertgoers during the first four dates of its upcoming tour when Butler & Co. appear as guests of the Dave Matthews Band at Boston’s TD Garden Nov. 9-10 and New York’s Madison Square Garden Nov. 12-13.

The group then shifts into intimate mode as it embarks on a string of dates playing auditoriums, theatres and clubs. The first post-DMB date is Baltimore at Rams Head Live Nov. 14, followed by Knoxville, Tenn., at the Valarium Nov. 16 and Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium Nov. 17.

Look for John Butler Trio to play Dallas, Austin, Minneapolis, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Spokane and Portland before it hits California for a show in Los Angeles at The Wiltern Dec. 2 followed by the tour’s closer in Oakland at the Fox Theatre Dec. 3.

The John Butler Trio is touring in support of the group’s latest release, April Uprising, which resulted in the band’s highest chart debut… ever. The release is also getting kudos among the music scribes including American Songwriter which described the effort as “a newfound maturity for an artist that might just be finally finding his stride.”

There are two ticket pre-sales for the tour with AMEX kicking off Sept. 22 followed by a general presale Sept. 24. For more information on John Butler Trio, April Rising and the upcoming tour, click here for the group’s website and here for the Trio’s MySpace page.
