Okay, so it’s not a tour in the sense of traveling on a bus from town-to-town, eating lousy food and waking up at 5 a.m. not knowing if you’re in Omaha, Des Moines or Tulsa. But the upcoming dates in New York and Los Angeles give the band a chance to showcase material from its debut album, The Place We Ran From, scheduled to drop Sept. 28 on Mom + Pop Music.

Along with Lightbody and Buck, Tired Pony’s lineup also includes Belle and Sebastian’s Richard Colburn and producer Jacknife Lee while the album features guest appearances from Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, aka She & Him.

Tired Pony plays Oct. 1 in New York at Irving Plaza and Oct. 4 in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre, but you can hear the band right now via AOL / Spinner.  Just click on this link.

You can also check out the band this weekend on NPR’s World Café when their performance airs Sept. 25 and then re-broadcasts Sept. 27. Or, if instant gratification is your objective, click here.
