Tricky’s ninth studio album – Mixed Race – lands in stores Oct. 5, although the world has already experienced the first single from the effort, a reworking of Echo Minott’s “Murder Weapon” featuring Irish-Italian singer Franky Riley doing the vocal track. As in past tours, Riley will join Tricky on the upcoming outing.

Other songs on the album feature Jamaica’s Terry Lynn, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, Hakim Hamadouche and . Tricky’s brother, Marlon Thaws, is also on the disc.

The tour begins in New York City at Le Poisson Rouge Dec. 9, plays the Brooklyn Bowl Dec. 10 and then heads north to Montreal and Club Soda for a Dec. 11 gig. Other stops include Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, Vancouver, Portland and San Francisco before ending in Los Angeles at The Troubadour Dec. 22.
