Cha… Cha… Cha… Changes – Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Nickelback and BRMC

A nasty cold forces Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers to reschedule two shows for next week. Meanwhile, that ol’ devil known as “unforeseen circumstances” has caused Nickelback to cancel its New Orleans gig and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club reschedules headline shows.

Sinus problems coupled with a throat infection have waylaid Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Mojo Tour. Health issues struck Petty during the weekend, forcing the postponement of the band’s Sept. 26 show in Phoenix as well as tonight’s stop in Chula Vista, Calif.

The revised routing shows tonight’s Southern California gig at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre moved to Oct. 5 while the Phoenix stop at the US Airways Center is now slotted for Oct. 7, making it the last show on the tour. Tickets for the postponed concerts will be honored on the new show dates.

For those of you keeping score at home, Petty & The Heartbreakers’ next show is at the Hollywood Bowl Oct. 1, followed by Irvine, Calif., at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Oct. 2; Chula Vista at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre Oct. 5 and Phoenix at US Airways Center Oct. 7.

Nickelback isn’t waiting for a cold, throat infection or the plague to change its tour schedule. Live Nation says “unforeseen circumstances” have forced the band to cancel its Oct. 12 stop at the New Orleans Arena.

Tickets refunds are available at point of purchase while ducats purchased via the ‘Net or charged by phone will be automatically credited to customers’ credit cards.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club has postponed several headline dates that were originally planned to take place during nights off from touring with Stone Temple Pilots.

Last week STP announced it was taking a break from the road and postponing its remaining September dates until October, a move that also affected the schedule for STP’s touring guests – BRMC.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club has now rescheduled the band’s missed headlining gigs. The Little Rock show at the Rev Room originally scheduled for Sept. 24 is now planned for Oct. 17 while the band’s Dallas gig at the Lizard Lounge is now scheduled for Oct. 24 at Trees.

BRMC will rejoin Stone Temple Pilots on Oct. 8 in Tampa. Below is a list of the band’s own headline dates.

Oct. 3, Nashville at Exit / In
Oct. 4 in Atlanta at Masquerade.
Oct. 5 in Asheville, N.C., at The Grey Eagle
Oct. 17 in Little Rock at The Rev Room
Oct. 24 in Dallas at Trees.
