Things got a little out of hand during a recent performance at the Low Low Car Show in San Antonio, Texas, where rapper Paul Wall apparently exchanged some heated words with a concertgoer who had apparently given him the finger.

A video of the incident, which ran on TMZ.com, shows the rapper bend over near the edge of the stage to have a word with a fan before thumping the concertgoer with his microphone. Other men onstage pull Wall away before calling for security over the loudspeaker as the crowd boos.

The offending concertgoer was reportedly thrown out of the show and no charges were pressed against Wall.

“I want to sincerely apologize to my San Antonio Fans … for allowing myself to become distracted during my recent performance, “ Wall said in a statement. “I apologize for temporarily taking my eyes off that goal. I will learn and grow from this incident and be a better person, artist and performer as a result.”
