MSG Banks On Chase
Madison Square Garden and JPMorgan Chase have agreed to form a marketing partnership that offers “exclusive buying opportunities” for the bank’s customers and includes signage inside and outside the arena.
As a “marquee partner,” JPM Chase will give customers access to tickets for sold-out events. The Seventh Avenue entrance to MSG will be named “Chase Square,” two footbridges suspended above the arena floor will be named “Chase Bridges” and an “1879 Club presented by JP Morgan” will be opened.
The marketing agreement, announced Sept. 21 in a joint statement, includes other MSG-owned venues in New York City including Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theatre, and the Chicago Theatre. It also covers branding and events such as “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” and sports teams the New York Knicks, Rangers and Liberty and MSG’s cable and digital platforms.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Garden is currently undergoing a top-to-bottom makeover.
“We are proud to have the world’s leading financial services firm, JPMorgan Chase, become Madison Square Garden’s first Marquee Partner,” MSG President/CEO Hank Ratner said in a statement. “This partnership will provide JPMorgan Chase with valuable tools to help strengthen and enhance relationships with their customers, creating defining moments and lasting memories through unique access and experiences with MSG’s legendary brands.”
