Prince Postpones Helsinki

Finland residents saw their hopes and dreams shattered today with the announcement that His Purpleness has nixed a planned performance in the country’s capital city.

Tickets for Prince’s Oct. 15 show in Helsinki were scheduled to go onsale Oct. 1. However, the show’s organizers say problems with the stage have forced them to reschedule the concert for a yet-to-be determined future date, according to Finland’s national broadcasting company, YLE.

YLE also noted that Prince hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to playing Finland, and that the artist had canceled previously scheduled shows in that country, with one cancellation announced only 24 hours before the concert.

The Oct. 15 Finland stop was to be part of Prince’s upcoming northern European tour.
