Amway Center In Business

The inaugural concert at the 20,000-capacity Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., kicked off with a reportedly sold-out house for Vicente Fernandez.

The $480 million facility, home to the Orlando Magic, opened to the public Oct. 1 with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and building dedication.

The new venue was to have hosted the Eagles Oct. 7 but an ailing Don Henley caused the band to reschedule for Oct. 26.

The “Machete Music Tour,” Chelsea Handler, Chayanne, André Rieu and Trans-Siberian Orchestra are also scheduled through mid-December.
