Less Than Jake’s TV Party

A new EP and tour means Less Than Jake might come to your town. Or at least give you something to listen to while watching the boob tube.

You might think 16 tracks is a bit much for an EP, but the band whips through various TV themes and commercial jingles in 13 minutes. Heck, fans would probably complain if TV/EP was classified as an album, but as an EP it’s definitely ready for prime time with the band covering everything from the theme songs from “Laverne & Shirley” and “Scooby Doo” to those FreeCreditReport.com commercials. Adding to the band romp through the wonderful world of television is the sound of channels changing placed between each track.

The band has a couple of Florida dates in January – Sebastian at Captain Hiram’s on the 19th and Jacksonville at Freebird Live on the 20th before getting down to some serious roadwork with Supervillains and Off With Their Heads beginning Jan. 21 in Durham, N.C., at Motorco Music Hall.

Other stops include Asheville, N.C., at the Orange Peel Jan. 22; Poughkeepsie at The Chance Jan. 26; Baltimore at Sonar Jan. 27; Cleveland at House Of Blues Feb. 2; Nashville at Exit In Feb. 10; Denver at Summit Theatre Feb. 18 and Santa Cruz, Calif., at the Catalyst Feb. 22.

Presales began today with several different packages featuring tickets bundled with CDs. For more information, click here for the Less Than Jake’s ticketing website.
