Lady Antebellum’s Gas Station Concert
Saying it wanted to re-create its “worst gig ever,” the country trio gave a free show at a Mayfield Mobil gas station near Milwaukee in Richfield, Wis., today.

Lady Antebellum’s original worst gig ever took place sometime before the fame when the group performed three years ago at a gas station / restaurant in Wisconsin, a gig that would probably give more than a few musicians thoughts about acquiring legitimate day jobs.
“It was at the butt-crack of dawn to kick off hunting season,” Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley told the crowd, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Everybody was sitting there eating. They didn’t know who the hell we were.”
But today must have seen more like a meet-and-greet than a nightmare booking, what with the band members meeting fans and signing autographs. However, they did do a mini-set consisting of three songs, including their hit “Need You Now.”
Now that the gig is over, it’s back to business as usual for Lady Antebellum with a sold-out show tonight at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theatre.
