Auburn’s New Arena
Auburn University in Alabama has a new venue in the
The 9,121-capacity facility will be home to the school’s basketball and gymnastics teams. It features 12 luxury suites, large box seating, a high-def video scoreboard, 94 HD TVs and a lower roof to keep seats closer to the action than at the school’s old Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.
“The sightlines are better throughout the arena, we have six concession stands where food is prepared in front of the customers and we have a team shop as well,” Senior Associate Athletic Director Scott Carr told the Auburn Villager.
“With this capacity crowd tonight, the fans already can see that there will be great energy, it will be loud, and they will be closer to the action than ever before,” he said.
The $85 million arena also includes team practice space, food courts, a museum and 12,000 square feet of banquet and entertainment space.
