Daltrey’s Fantasy Gig

How would you like to play Pete to Roger Daltrey? You can at January’s Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camp in NYC.

The camp has lined up an impressive list of artists for its Jan. 12-17 New York run including Who frontman Daltrey as special guest counselor.

The Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy camp offers music fans the ultimate interaction experience with their idols as they learn the ropes (and, hopefully, their instruments) through several days of up-close-and personal instructions from the pros. Joining Daltrey on the January run will be Grammy Award-winning producer Phil Ramone, Tommy James, Bad Company’s Simon Kirke, Quiet Riot’s Rudy Sarzo, Kip Winger, Mark Hudson and many more.

The camp is also a new TV hit with its debut on VH1 Classic scoring some of the best ratings the music channel has ever received for a new program.

The rock ‘n’ roll fantasy begins as soon as campers arrive in New York with participants forming their own bands and spending more than 10 hours a day creating music and jamming in the studio under the watchful eyes of a rock counselor. There’s also a variety of specialized master classes, chances to meet industry bigwigs and, of course, rocking out with Daltrey, all culminating with the opportunity to play B.B. King’s Times Square nightclub.

You can also get a taste of what the camp has to offer by checking out the Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp tour, led by Dickey Betts. The tour launches in Philadelphia this weekend and lands in San Francisco Nov. 5-7; Dallas Nov. 12-14; and Chicago Nov. 19-21. Mark Farner, Mark Hudson, Rudy Sarzo, Kip Winger and Sandy Gennaro are also on the tour as well as special rock guests in each city.
