John Mellencamp’s latest routing update comes with extra dates for Toronto and New York – Feb. 10 at Massey Hall and Feb. 19 at Radio City Music Hall, respectively.

But it’s the brand spanking new April schedule that pushes Mellencamp deeper into 2011. Presented by AEG Live, the new additions include “Austin City Limits Live” at Moody Theatre April 2; Houston at Jones Hall For The Performing Arts April 3; Denver at Temple Buell Theatre April 6 and Los Angeles at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live April 8.

Other stops include San Francisco’s Warfield April 9; Omaha’s Civic Music Hall April 27 and Ames, Iowa, at Stephens Auditorium April 28.

Mellencamp has also added a run across western Canada, playing Vancouver’s Orpheum Theatre April 13; Edmonton’s Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium April 15; Saskatoon’s TCU Place April 19 and Regina’s Conexus Arts Centre April 22.

Each tour stop comes in three separate segments with the first featuring Mellencamp in an acoustic setting, the second part with a small combo while the third features the man in an all-out rock show.

While each show is “an evening with,” the outing does have an opening act of sorts, the Kurt Markus documentary film “It’s About You” that was shot during the 2009 tour featuring Mellencamp with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson.

Onsales for the newly announced dates begin Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets purchased include a download of Mellencamp’s T Bone Burnett-produced No Better Than This.
