Social D Does The Left Coast
For Mike Ness & Co, the tour and album represent a couple of band benchmarks. Scheduled to drop Jan. 18, Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes is the band’s first album in over six years, and the string of newly announced dates represents the first time the band has toured a singular region since 2005. Social Distortion is currently road-testing songs from the new album on the East Coast so it’s only fitting that one of Southern California’s hardest working bands brings it all back home when the album lands in stores.
The West Coast tour actually begins with a couple of landlocked dates – Jan. 20 in Las Vegas at House Of Blues and Jan. 24 in Bakersfield, Calif., at the Kern County Fairgrounds.
Social Distortion meets the ocean Jan. 25 when it plays the Majestic Ventura Theatre in, where else but, Ventura, Calif. Next up is Jan. 27 at Tinsel Town’s Hollywood Palladium followed by a Feb. 1 gig at UC Davis’ Freeborn Hall. The band hits the Bay Area Feb. 3 playing San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre.
Other towns on the trek include Portland, Ore., Feb. 8; Seattle Feb. 12; Reno Feb. 15; Fresno Feb. 16 and two nights in San Diego Feb. 19-20.
Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music appears on all dates. Lucero appears Jan. 20-25, 31-Feb. 1 and Feb. 15-19. The Aggrolites appear when Lucero is absent – Jan. 27, Feb. 3-12 and Feb. 20.
