Four Tops’ Fakir Under Fire

The daughters of the late Four Tops founding member Renaldo “Obie” Benson have filed a lawsuit against surviving member Abdul “Duke” Fakir, claiming Fakir owes them and the group’s company money.

The lawsuit, filed by Tobi Walker and Eboni Benson Oct. 18 in Michigan’s Circuit Court of Wayne County, accuses Fakir of breach of fiduciary duties and willfully unfair or oppressive conduct by a manager or member. It also seeks to dissolve The Four Tops LLC, according to court papers.

The performer allegedly “failed to collect revenue owed to the company” and is also accused of being less-than-forthcoming on the company’s financial status, the lawsuit says.

The women are seeking more than $25,000 in lost revenue and profits and removal of Fakir as manager.
