IAVM CEO King Retiring
Dexter King, president and CEO of the International Association of Venue Managers, has decided it’s time to retire.
King told the board of directors of the IAVM (formerly IAAM) Oct. 26 that he’ll hand over his keys Sept. 4, 2011.
King’s 32 years in venue management includes regional GM for SMG of Alaska, executive director of the Boise State University Pavilion and executive director of five venues on the Oral Roberts University campus in Tulsa, Okla.
His many awards include IAVM’s Charles A. McElravy Award – its highest honor – as well as the Francis Deering Award and being named Honorary Lifetime Member of the Venue Management Association and IAVM.
