Produced by Frank Black, Yorn’s self-titled album has been well received by folks whose jobs entail critiquing the artistic works of others. Spin rated it eight out of ten, describing it as Yorn’s “most purposeful, affecting album yet” while the New York Daily News gave it four stars, saying “It’s a rough-hewn work, informed by garage-like guitars and thrashing rhythm sections of grunge.”

Yorn launches his 2011 tour Feb. 14 in Phoenix at the Marquee. Other dates, cities and venues include Feb. 16 in Salt Lake City at the Depot; Feb. 17 in Denver at Ogden Theatre; Feb. 22 in Minneapolis at First Avenue; Feb. 23 in Chicago at the Vic Theatre; Feb. 27 in St. Louis at The Pageant; March 8 in Boston at House Of Blues; March 11 in New York at Terminal 5 and April 1 in Seattle at Showbox SoDo. Other stops include Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis and Atlanta.

Ben Kweller opens on all dates.

Tickets go on sale this weekend and U.S. fans purchasing tickets during the first 14 days of the onsales will receive a free download of the new album. For more information, click here for PeteYorn.com.
