Michigan Defeat
The head of a ticketing company who made a grab for Michigan’s congressional seat was narrowly defeated by an incumbent Democrat when final votes were tallied Nov. 3.
Star Tickets CEO Andrew “Rocky” Raczkowski faced a tough race against U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, who ran a series of ads called “Trust,” slamming Raczkowski for bilking his former business partners out of millions.
The ads were spurred by a lawsuit filed against Raczkowski earlier this year by the promoter of a concert series during the 2008 Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota.
The suit alleged Star Tickets had misreported ticket counts at Rock’n The Rally, claiming breach of contract, fraud, theft and other causes of action.
