Moody Faces Cancer

Jazz legend James Moody recently revealed he has been battling pancreatic cancer and underwent surgery in February to have a tumor resected, but it was impossible without endangering his life.

Moody, a longtime San Diego resident, has decided to not receive chemotherapy or radiation treatment.

The 85-year-old saxophone player is a 1998 recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts’ Jazz Master Award and has played at the White House three times.
