Bad Sushi Sidelines David Foster And Friends

Philippine singer and “Glee” co-star Charice was rushed to a hospital in Singapore prior to her last performance on Oct. 30 with the David Foster and Friends Asian tour.

Apparently, most of the performers in the show, which, in addition to Charice and pop producer David Foster, included Natalie Cole, Peter Cetera and Ruben Studdard, also came down with food poisoning after eating a sushi meal the night before. Despite the health scare, the show went on as planned that night with all the members.

Despite the bigger star power provided by her older colleagues, Charice emerged from the tour, which also took in Tokyo, Manila, Bangkok and Jakarta, as the show’s most popular performer. She earned standing ovations at every concert and lots of press attention, mainly because Foster, who is being touted as not only her mentor but her “godfather,” gave Charice his show-stopping arrangements of several Celine Dion hits as well as a medley from “The Bodyguard.”

Charice will return in February when she launches her first solo tour of Asia with shows in Japan, where her debut album is already one of the biggest international releases of the year.
