More Vegas Shows For Brooks

Not only has the number of Garth Brooks residency shows at the Wynn Las Vegas increased, but so has the ticket price.

Last year when Brooks first announced his Vegas residency at Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theater, tickets were priced at $125 plus service charges and tax. However, today’s announcement detailing future Garth dates in Sin City lists tickets for $225, $100 over the original price.

What gives? Evidently supply and demand.

“My decision to raise the ticket price was a simple one,” Wynn Las Vegas owner Steve Wynn said in a statement. “The demand for Garth was so overwhelming that it caught us by surprise. We could fill a theater many times the size of this, twice a night.

“The most important thing for our company is to give people value for their entertainment dollar. The contact with Garth Brooks in the Encore Theater is the equivalent of being in his living room. When the greatest live performer of our time appears in such an intimate theater, the seats should be priced at least competitively with other great Las Vegas entertainers. In terms of value, I believe that Garth Brooks is still under-priced and represents the greatest entertainment value in modern Las Vegas.”

Huh? Brooks still under-priced at $225 per ticket? Is that a subtle hint that the price might go up again? Is Wynn saying you better see him for $225 before the price goes up to … whatever?

Who knows? Right now Brooks has new dates on the books beginning in December and running through the last week of February. Specifically, the new Encore Theater shows are Dec. 3-5, Jan. 21-23, Feb. 11-13 and 25-27.
