Purists might argue that Gang Of Four isn’t the same band that emerged more than 30 years ago. But, hey, who hasn’t changed since then? One thing is for certain – the fire still burns in the hearts of founding members Jon King and Andy Gill, making Gang Of Four as relevant today as it was back when gas prices soared, the Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia and a peanut farmer occupied the White House.

Along with King and Gill, the current Gang Of Four lineup consists of Thomas McNiece (bass) and Mark Heaney (drums).

The 2011 tour begins in Toronto at the Phoenix Concert Theatre Feb. 4; plays Philly’s Theatre Of Living Arts Feb. 5 and stops in Boston for a show at the Paradise Feb. 7. Other gigs include New York at Webster Hall Feb. 8; Washington at 9:30 Club Feb. 9 and Chicago’s Metro Feb. 11. The band will also play Minneapolis, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Anaheim before wrapping in Los Angeles at The Music Box Feb. 21.

Gang Of Four also has a new album representing the band’s first collection of new material in 16 years. C O N T E N T drops Jan. 25 on Yep Roc Records.
