Wilson To ‘Re-Imagine Gershwin’ For Brits

Saying he’s returning to his “spiritual home,” singer / songwriter / living legend Brian Wilson schedules three 2011 dates for London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Calling the venue his “spiritual home away from home,” Wilson will perform selections from his latest album – Brian Wilson Re-Imagines Gershwin – as well as classics from his days with The Beach Boys.

So far, the official line is “three nights only” – Sept. 16-18.

Wilson has enjoyed a longtime love affair with Royal Festival Hall. In 2002 it was the venue where he gave fans his first-ever live performances of Pet Sounds in its entirety. He returned two years later for the live premiere of Brian Wilson Presents Smile. In 2007 Wilson performed That Lucky Old Sun at the venue which was commissioned by the Southbank Centre to celebrate the reopening of the hall following a two-year makeover.
