The first time the two hit the touring highway was in 1982 on Grant’s “Age To Age” tour where Smith did double duty by opening for Grant as well as playing in her band.

“I’ve always said I wouldn’t be where I am without Amy Grant,” Smith said. “When Amy hired me to play keyboards for her, I never could have anticipated where it would take me. This many years later, to get to tour together is just awesome. When I think about set lists and what we might do together, the question isn’t, ‘Where do we start?’ The question is, ‘Where do we stop?’ This will be a fun night with a lot of great memories.”

Those fun nights begin with a single evening in Holland, Mich., at the Central Wesleyan Church Feb. 10. Fun night No. 2 is scheduled for Illinois at the Peoria Civic Center Feb. 11 and Chicago’s next with a gig at the Chicago Theatre Feb. 12. The routing also includes shows in Minneapolis, Omaha, No. Charleston, S.C., Erie, Pa., Huntington, W.V., Lowell, Mass., Rochester, N.Y., Lancaster Pa., and North Carolina towns Franklin and New Bern.
