The alternative band formed in 1995 and broke up 10 years later. In 2009 the guys got back together for a reunion tour to support the re-release of the group’s 1999 sophomore album, Something to Write Home About.

The Get Up Kids have spend the past year touring Australia, Japan and Europe. In January the band will once again hit stages in the U.S. in addition to releasing There Are Rules as a follow-up to 2004’s Guilt Show.

There Are Rules is set for release Jan. 25 on Quality Hill Records.

The first round of dates kicks off Jan. 21 at Warehouse Live in Houston with shows booked through a Feb. 5 gig at Marquis Theater in Denver.

Additional shows include The Clubhouse Music Venue in Tempe, Ariz. (Jan. 25), House Of Blues in San Diego (Jan. 26), Slim’s in San Francisco (Jan. 30), Neumos in Seattle (Feb. 2) and Club Sound in Salt Lake City (Feb. 4).

Tickets are on sale now.

A second round of dates is expected to be announced soon.
