Arrests Made At Avalon
A melee erupted outside The Avalon nightclub in Los Angeles Nov. 5 after police and fire department personnel responded to reports of overcrowding at the venue.
Rocks and bottles were reportedly hurled at police by some of the estimated 500 waiting outside the 1,462-capacity Avalon, resulting in at least seven arrests.
The Avalon, near the famed Hollywood and Vine intersection, was hosting a weekly DJ-driven event called “Control,” according to L.A. Weekly.
At one point, “several hundred people” faced off against about 100 helmeted riot police, according to the Beverly Hills Courier.
A spokesman for the Avalon could not be reached at press time.
