Amy Winehouse Announces Brazil Tour

Amy Winehouse is back – at least in Brazil. The singer announced a “one-off tour” Nov. 17 with a handful of dates scheduled in January.

Fans were so excited about the news that they crashed Winehouse’s website. The announcement was then re-posted to her Facebook page.

Brazil’s Summer Soul Festival has snagged Winehouse for three performances. On Jan. 8 she’ll be at El Divino Amphitheater in Florianopolis, followed by a Jan. 13 set at Centro de Convencoes in Recife, and a Jan. 15 set at the Jockey Club in Sao Paulo.

Winehouse has also booked a Jan. 11 headline gig at HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro.

Janelle Monae will provide support on all four shows. Mayer Hawthorne will open the Summer Soul Festival gigs.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 22 via www.livepass.com.br

Winehouse’s most recent tour took place in 2008. In October she played a secret gig in London to celebrate the launch of her Fred Perry clothing line, according to the London Evening Standard.
