Keller Williams: Working For Tomorrow’s Fans, Today

Not only has the singer / songwriter / one-man band announced new tour dates for 2011, but he has also slotted a few book signings. Details inside.

What’s with book signings? It’s part of Keller Williams’ new calling as a children’s entertainer. His 16th studio album, Kids, pretty much describes the target demo in the title with the Virginia native delivering an album that children and parents can enjoy.

But Kids is only one facet of Williams’ recent foray into children’s entertainment. The artist is appearing as a “Super Music Friend” on select Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! dates in addition to his touring for grownups. What’s more, his first children’s book, “Because I Said So,” lands in stores Nov. 30. Guess you could say he’s working on building tomorrow’s fanbase today.

Williams’ 2011 journey begins with the previously announced Jan. 13 gig at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Colo. Newly announced tour stops include Fort Collins’ Aggie Theatre Jan. 15; Dallas at the Granada Theater Jan. 20; Houston at Fitzgerald’s Jan. 21; Austin at Antone’s Jan. 22; Chicago at Park West Feb. 5; Philadelphia at the Theatre Of The Living Arts Feb. 12 and Memphis at New Daisy Theatre Feb. 17.

Expect Williams to pull a little overtime when his tour bus rolls into Chicago and Philadelphia with the artist playing a kids’ show during the day as well as an evening show for grownups.

Williams is also appearing in the lineup for tribute taking place at New York City’s Carnegie Hall Feb. 10 and with Umphrey’s McGee in Nashville at the War Memorial Auditorium Feb. 18. For more information on the singer / songwriter / one-man band / kids’ author, click here for the artist’s website.
