The Band Perry
“The band appeals to a Taylor Swift or Brad Paisley crowd,” said William Morris Endeavor’s Rob Beckham. “I think they’re going to bring in a lot of new, young fans but the traditionalists are going to love them too.”
Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta was happy to add his thoughts. The Band Perry is the first release of imprint Republic Nashville.
“I’ve been looking for what I call a bluegrass rock band for 10 years – acoustic instruments, great players, and high energy with a dynamic lead singer who understand hit songs,” Borchetta told Pollstar. “In my original vision it was a Robert Plant-esque lead singer. Ironically, Kimberly probably has the coolest and most rockin’ head of blonde curly locks since Plant.”
Republic Nashville President Jimmy Harnen added, “I will never forget the first day they came to our office. They just killed it in our conference room. The music, the look, the presentation were unlike anything I had ever seen. I remember wanting to take it to radio that day and we did not even have them signed. We hit 87 radio stations in the next three months and The Band Perry won everyone over everywhere they went.”
