Coldplay Warming Up For 2011

With festival dates being announced left and right it’s only appropriate that Coldplay has booked two fests for the band’s first scheduled shows of 2011.

In a post on the band’s website Coldplay confirmed it will headline Germany’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals. The events are scheduled over the weekend of June 3-5 with Rock am Ring taking place at Nurburg Ring in Nurburg, and Rock Im Park at Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg.

The lineup also features Kings Of Leon, German alternative/punk band Beatsteaks, Swedish death metal band In Flames, Swedish alternative rock band Mando Diao, and Danish rock band Volbeat. The Gaslight Anthem will also be there, according to Coldplay’s website, which notes that pre-sale tickets are available now.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Nov. 29. Weekend ticket-passes, including fees, camping and parking, begin at €150 ($200.66).

Coldplay is playing two “hidden gigs” next month in the United Kingdom. Venues will be announced 24 hours prior to the shows, which take place Dec. 19 in Liverpool and Dec. 20 in Newcastle. The intimate gigs benefit Crisis, a U.K. charity for homeless people.

Chris Martin and co. will celebrate New Year’s Eve along with Jay-Z by playing a Dec. 31 co-bill show at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
