Nicole Atkins’ ‘Black Sea’ Voyage

Nicole Atkins takes her new band and hits the road beginning in New York City.

Releasing her upcoming album hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for Atkins. At one time she expected the album to drop in early 2010. But not everything goes as planned, and Mondo Amore lands in stores Jan. 25, 2011.

Atkins also has a new band; a trio culled from the group of musicians appearing on Mondo Amore and dubbed “The Black Sea.” Together, Atkins & The Black Sea embark on a club tour beginning at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom Feb. 9.

Atkins and the band then jump to the West Coast, playing the Media Club in Vancouver, B.C., Feb. 11; Tractor Tavern in Seattle Feb. 12; Mississippi Studios in Portland Feb. 13; Café Du Nord in San Francisco Feb. 15; Troubadour in West Hollywood Feb. 16 and The Loft At UCSD in La Jolla Feb. 18.

Other stops include Boston (Feb. 23), Montreal (Feb. 25), Toronto (Feb. 26), Detroit (Feb. 27), Chicago (March 3) and Philadelphia (March 10).
