Known almost as much for his environmental advocacy as he is for his music stretching over the past four decades, Jackson Browne’s bus and truck run on bio-diesel fuel. Other enviornmental features include a “no plastic backstage” and a lighting rig that reduces energy consumption.

The tour begins when Browne and his eco-friendly vehicles pull into Santa Cruz, Calif., for a gig at the local Civic Auditorium Feb. 23. Other dates on the mostly California run include Santa Barbara at Arlington Theatre Feb. 25; Bakersfield at the Fox Theatre Feb. 26; Santa Rosa at Wells Fargo Center For The Arts March 1; Sacramento at Comerica Theatre March 2; Temecula at Pechanga Resort & Casino March 5; Long Beach at Terrace Theatre March 8 and Thousands Oaks at Civic Arts Plaza March 9.

Browne’s newly released schedule also has two non-California dates – Phoenix at Comerica Theatre March 4 and Thunder Bay, Ont., at the Community Auditorium April 3.

And if you’re wondering what kind of show Browne puts on when it’s only him onstage, you can check out his two concert albums – Solo Acoustic Vol. 1 released in 2005 and 2008’s Solo Acoustic Two – available on his indie label Inside Recordings.

Pre-sales began today. There is also special benefit seating available via the friendly folks at the Guacamole Fund. Just click here for more info and here for Jackson Browne’s website.
