UFO To Land In U.S.

The legendary Brit band UFO returns to The States, touching down in Maryland, New York, Massachussets and Illinois in May.

So many musicians have played in the band since singer Phil Mogg, guitarist Mick Bolton, bassist Pete Way and drummer Andy Parker hooked up in 1969 that we wouldn’t blame you if you’re not up to speed on current UFO-ology. These days the UFO crew consists of Mogg, Parker, Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar) and guitarist Vinnie Moore. Way announced in 2009 that liver disease was forcing him to take some time off and is not in the current lineup.

UFO will tour in support of its latest studio effort scheduled to be released in June on SPV/Steamhammer. Right now the routing consists of a short list of East Coast dates with more shows to be announced soon, including a West Coast leg.

The first date is May 11 in Baltimore at Bourbon Street followed by a May 13 gig at B.B. King’s in New York. Foxboro, Mass., hosts the band May 14 at The Showcase Live and then it’s on to Saint Charles, Ill., for two shows at the Arcada Theatre May 20-21.
