The tour was to launch at The Music Box in Los Angeles Dec. 1. Although band members’ visas were approved, remaining steps in the process were not completed, resulting in Einstürzende Neubauten issuing the following statement:

“It is with great regret that Einstürzende Neubauten announce the cancellation of their planned 30th anniversary appearances in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto and New York. While the U.S. Department of Homeland Security did issue approvals for the band’s visas, it was not done in time to secure the appointments at the overseas embassies and consulates that represent the necessary final step in the process.”

Because 30th anniversary tours only happen, well, once in a band’s lifetime, Einstürzende Neubauten will not reschedule the run. Refunds are available at points of purchase.

However, there is something for the band’s fans to look forward to. Although Einstürzende Neubauten’s latest album, Strategies Against Architecture IV, has already been released digitally, a two-disc physical release is on track for Dec. 7. For more information, click here for the band’s website.
