Plans Unveiled For Missouri PAC
Proponents have unveiled plans for a new $48 million arts and entertainment center in Joplin.
Consultant Halsey North showed the plans for the Joplin Regional Arts & Entertainment Center to a roomful of community leaders Thursday.
North, a New York consultant, said the plans are only a vision and the southwest Missouri city will have to decide how elaborate a center it wants to build.
North said the 150,000-square foot performing and visual arts center could house a 1,200-seat auditorium for touring shows, a 500-seat theater and a center for the arts.
The three-story building also would have offices for the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and could include rooms for convention and meetings.
