Pearl Jam Festival + Eddie Vedder Solo Shows

Pearl Jam has a very special show in the works to mark the band’s 20th anniversary. The group’s longtime manager recently revealed that Eddie Vedder and co. are planning to host their own music festival.

Manager Kelly Curtis made the announcement earlier this week on the band’s Sirius/XM Radio station. The event is planned for summer 2011.

According to music blog GuerrillaCandy.com (via Spinner.com) Curtis said the festival will be held “somewhere in the middle of the country.” He noted that this clue means the event will not take place in the band’s hometown of Seattle.

In other Pearl Jam news, Vedder has added two additional dates to his upcoming solo Australian tour. The shows were added “due to the overwhelming demand from the Ten Club and Chugg Entertainment pre-sales,” according to a post on Pearl Jam’s website.

The new dates take place March 13 at QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane, and March 20 at State Theatre in Sydney.

Vedder’s solo tour kicks off March 10 in Brisbane and is scheduled to wrap up March 27 in Adelaide.

Tickets are on sale now.

Pearl Jam’s latest live album, Live on Ten Legs, is set for release Jan. 17. The compilation features songs recorded during the band’s 2003-2010 world tours.
