Macca To Play 100 Club

Wanna see Paul McCartney up-close-and-personal? Then you need to be in London on Friday.

McCartney is showing his support for London’s troubled 100 Club by playing a special lunchtime show Dec. 17 at 12:30 p.m.

Although the 350-capacity club has hosted bands since 1942, and has seen its fair share of rock royalty trod its stage, including The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, The Clash and Siouxsie & The Banshees, current economic conditions have not been kind to the venue. When word got out that the club may be forced to close, many of London’s musician community rallied to voice their support for the historic club.

McCartney’s appearance at the 100 Club is being described as the former Beatle’s most intimate show since he played Liverpool’s Cavern Club in 1999.
