Paramore Guitarist & Drummer Quit The Band
The Farro brothers helped found the pop punk band in 2004 along with lead singer Hayley Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis.
Williams, Davis and guitarist Taylor York broke the news to fans on Saturday with a post on the band’s website simply titled “Announcement.”
The remaining members of Paramore explained that they had known about the Farro brothers’ decision to quit the band for months.
“A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn’t seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn’t here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere.”
Williams, Davis and York assured fans that they have no plans to break up the band.
“But we never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind. We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together. You have always been what keeps us going so why would we stop now? We want to stick by you. Knowing that we have a unified passion and a clear vision makes us feel stronger than ever.”
The band added that Paramore’s 2011 South American tour is still good to go. The announcement noted that “we are excited about who we are bringing with us!”
The Farro brothers’ last show with Paramore took place Dec. 12 at XL 106.7’s XL’ent X-Mas at House Of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Paramore’s South American tour kicks off Feb. 16 at Ginasio Nilson Nelson in Brasilia, Brazil. The band will also make stops in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela.
