Ky-Mani Marley Returns To The West Coast

The singer / actor / author / humanitarian books a run along the Pacific seaboard.

Having appeared this past weekend at the World Festival of Black Arts & Cultures in Dakar, Senegal, where he joined writers, filmmakers, scholars and scientists in supporting Senegal President Abdoulaye Wade, Marley begins his 2011 journey appearing on Australia’s Raggamuffin tour along with Mary J. Blige, Jimmy Cliff, Maxi Priest, Sean Paul and The Original Wailers beginning Jan. 26 in Adelaide.

The second week of February finds Marley beginning his West Coast tour in Solana Beach, Calif., at The Belly Up. From there the tour wanders through Southern California, playing Santa Barbara’s Soho Restaurant & Music Club Feb. 9; West Hollywood’s Roxy Theatre Feb. 10 and San Juan Capistrano’s Coach House Feb. 11.

Following the Coach House gig, Marley’s tour bus heads north, hitting The Catalyst in Santa Cruz Feb. 12; The Independent in San Francisco Feb. 13 and the Mateel Community Center in Redway, Calif., Feb. 14 before wrapping up the tour at the Tower Theatre in Bend, Ore., Feb. 15.
