Lee Smith Exits Live Nation

Lee Smith, who took over running Bill Graham Presents — and subsequently became president of Live Nation San Francisco — when Gregg Perloff and Sherry Wasserman left to form Another Planet Entertainment, has left that position though it’s not clear if he might reemerge in another capacity.

Smith reportedly gave his staff the news last week, sources familiar with the situation told Pollstar. A voice mailbox for Smith at the San Francisco office was still taking messages at press time.

The departure comes on the heels of company wide layoffs at Live Nation, with reports that several hundred staffers could be receiving pink slips in their holiday stockings this year.
