Rudess is presenting “Explorations” Jan. 23 at the Tarrytown Music Hall. Joining Rudess will be Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie and Turkish musician Eren Basbug.

While “Explorations For Keyboard and Orchestra” premiered Nov. 19 with two shows in one night in Caracas, Venezuela, the Jan. 23 performance will mark the first time Rudess has performed the composition live on only two keyboards. For the Caracas gig Rudess was joined by the Chacao Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Basbug.

In addition to “Explorations,” Rudess & Co. will perform two-keyboard versions of Dream Theater’s music during the Tarrytown show as well as songs by Liquid Tension Experiment, the prog-metal group founded by former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy that counts Rudess as a member. Other treats include collaboration with Project RnL’s Eyal Amir and Ray Livnat for a new version of Project’s “Wake.”

Rudess will also demonstrate his acclaimed MorphWiz application, which brings synth capabilities to the iPhone and iPad.

Tickets for Rudess’ Tarrytown Music Hall performance go on sale Dec. 24 with prices ranging from $25 to $65. The first 25 buyers of the $65 ducats will have the opportunity to add $20 to the price in exchange for meeting Jordan and his guests after the show.
